E-mark certification

1、 Introduction and Logo of E-mark Certification

1. Introduction to E-mark Certification

E-Mark/e-Mark, also known as the European Common Market, is a certificate of conformity issued during product certification for locomotives and their safety spare parts products, noise and exhaust gases, in accordance with the provisions of the European Union Directive and the European Economic Commission Regulation, to ensure the safety of driving and environmental protection requirements.

2. E-mark certification mark

Europe has safety certification requirements for motor vehicles, their components, and systems related to safety, specifically reflected in the E-mark and E-mark certification.

One type of E-Mark/e-Mark certification mark is a circular outer frame; One is the rectangular frame, which represents different meanings.

The E symbol originates from regulations issued by the Economic Commission of Europe (ECE). The European market requires cars, locomotives and their safety spare parts products, noise and exhaust gases to pass product certification requirements in accordance with the provisions of the European Union Directive (EEC Directive) and the European Economic Commission Regulation (ECE Regulation), that is, to grant a certificate of conformity to ensure the safety and environmental protection of vehicles.

Circular frame: Refers to products that must be used when the vehicle is stopped and in motion, such as windshields, seat belts, headlights, etc.

The e-mark is a certification mark for motor vehicles, safety components, and systems that the European Commission mandates member states to use in accordance with EU directives. The testing agency must be a technical service agency within the EU member state, and the issuing agency must be the transportation department of the EU member state government. Products certified with the e-mark will be recognized by all EU member states.

Rectangular frame: Refers to products that can be used normally instead of being necessary when the vehicle is stopped or in motion, such as car chargers, car lights/flashlights, etc.

3、 E-mark certification process and cycle

1. E-mark certification process

1) Manufacturers prepare product information documents, materials, and samples;

The information includes:

A. COP protocol (provided by different applicants and manufacturers).

B. The manufacturer provides a system certificate to confirm whether factory inspection is required.

2) Start testing, testing items:

Radiation disturbance (30-1000MHz);

Transient conduction emission (fast pulse/slow pulse);

Transient conduction anti-interference of power lines (pulse 1/2a/2b/3a/3b/4);

Radiation immunity - anechoic chamber method (400~2000MHz);

Radiation immunity - wire harness excitation method (20-400MHz).

3) Submit test reports and manufacturer technical data for review.

4) European national transportation departments issue certificates (issuing agencies may conduct regular or irregular factory inspections on certified product manufacturers).

2. E-mark certification cycle

Usually 3-6 weeks.

3. CE certification (EN50498) certification process

1) Provide application forms, product information documents, samples, including matching wiring harnesses

2) Test out the report

Test project:

Radiation disturbance (30-1000MHz);

Transient conduction emission of power line (fast pulse+slow pulse);

Transient conduction anti-interference of power lines (pulse 1/2a/2b/3a/3b/4).

4. Certification cycle and sample quantity

1) The certification cycle for CE certification (EN50498) generally takes 3-5 working days.

2) Number of required samples: 2.
