IEC62133
IEC 62133-2:2017+AMD1: 2021 New Version
On July 15, 2021, the IEC website released an upgraded version of the IEC62133-2:2017 standard, known as the 2021 edition.
The new version has the following changes:
1. The updated standard has revised the idle time for constant temperature charging of battery cells in section 7.1.2, from 1h and 4h to 1h to 4h, and the charging method has been changed from constant voltage charging to constant current charging followed by constant voltage charging.
2. Chapter 7.3.5 Squeezing Test: The updated standard has removed the description of the upper limit charging temperature in the original standard, and the new standard specifies that both the upper and lower limits of charging temperature need to be tested.
3. Chapter 7.3.6 Overcharge Test: The description of the correction test requirements is: If the battery is equipped with a charging protection circuit, it should be able to protect the battery cell from fire or explosion.
4. Chapter 7.3.9 Mandatory internal short circuit test, revised the description of test temperature from the original 10 ℃/45 ℃ to handle according to the manufacturer's claimed lower/upper limit of charging temperature
