1、 Why do we need to do KC certification?

In order to enable consumers to have a clearer understanding of the certification marks indicated on the purchased products and to reduce the various certification fees borne by product manufacturers. On July 1, 2009, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announced the standard "Self Regulatory Safety Confirmation, Annex 05" applicable to portable secondary lithium battery packs and lithium cells, and included the relevant products under the self declared product category of the KC certification system.

2、 Introduction to KC Certification

1) According to the Korean Electrical Appliance Safety Management Act, electrical product safety certification has been divided into mandatory certification and self regulatory (voluntary) certification since January 1, 2009.

2) Mandatory certification refers to the requirement that all electronic products belonging to mandatory products must obtain KC Mark certification before they can be sold in the Korean market Annual factory inspections and product sampling tests are required.

3) Self regulatory (voluntary) certification refers to all electronic products belonging to voluntary products that only need to be tested to obtain a certificate and do not need to undergo factory inspection. The certificate is valid for 5 years.  

Warm tip:

The KC certification mark varies according to the size of the product

1) The KC certification mark is a mark that is easily distinguishable between the product, container, and packaging, and is also a mark that is not easily detached by printing or engraving methods;

2) Adjacent to the KC certification cover, indicate the KC certification number. Other matters related to safety standards are annotated in Chinese or English;

3) The color of the KC certification cover is indicated in black.

1) Certification application (mandatory), declaration application (self regulatory);

5) Legal recognition certificate (mandatory), certificate issuance (self-discipline).
